The Comedy

Though it’s for a movie called The Comedy, the trailer for the new Tim Heidecker film makes it look like anything but. Co-starring LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Heidecker’s Tim And Eric counterpart Eric Wareheim, and Gregg Turkington, a.k.a. Neil Hamburger, The Comedy explores the wild and empty life of an aging Williamsburg hipster living on his dad’s dime.

The film also boasts an indie-packed soundtrack curated by the Jagjaguwar label, featuring artists like GAYNGS, Here We Go Magic, and excerpts from William Basinski’s music and art project The Disintegration Loops, which attempts to document what happens when music committed to tape decays.

The Comedy will be available on cable On Demand, iTunes, Amazon, and VUDU starting Oct. 24. It opens theatrically Nov. 9 in select cities and director Rick Alverson will be doing Q&As in select cities.
