The Fast And Furious beefs heat up again as Tyrese Gibson blames The Rock for delay

Yesterday, Universal announced that it was bumping Fast And Furious 9 (or whatever it will be called) from April of 2019 to April of 2020. At this point, the studio hasn’t confirmed anything about the movie, including who will direct it, other than that Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodgriguez are most likely returning. We don’t know why the delay happened in the first place, but regular Fast And Furious player Tyrese Gibson thinks he knows exactly what the problem is: Dwayne Johnson.

This comes from Complex, which reports that Gibson shared a brief but fiery Instagram post yesterday in which he accuses Johnson of stealing the Fast And Furious series and making it about himself. He also wondered if Fast 9 will be “another Baywatch” and said that he won’t take the Instagram post down even if “they” tell him to.

Back in September, Gibson went to Johnson’s Instagram to tell him not to ruin the “#FastFamily” by moving forward with a spin-off movie, and while Johnson never responded publicly, Gibson did make an Instagram post saying that he doesn’t “do email” and that Johnson should call him. This also comes in the wake of the big “candy ass” feud from last year that may still continue to this day.
