The first trailer for Destiny 2 rises from the ashes of humanity’s last city
Those posters weren’t lying. Destiny 2 is happening, and it’s coming out on September 8 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Activision announced today. The debut trailer features no actual footage of the game—you’ll have to wait for a Bungie livestream on May 18 for that—but it does have a few of Destiny’s most recognizable voices that aren’t Peter Dinklage, namely Nathan Fillion’s goofball robot Cayde-6 and Lance Reddick’s honorable blue dude Zavala, explaining the plot set up for the sequel. Apparently, the Tower, humanity’s last city, was blown up by a space warlord named Ghaul and his Red Legion forces, inconveniently destroying all the stuff you collected in the last game. So now, players will have to scour new planets and collect new stuff to help fight back against Earth’s enemies.
