The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug 

It’s been nearly four months since we last checked in on Bilbo Baggins and his crew of wobbly Weebles—enough time to travel at least 100 yards in Peter Jackson time, give or take a few songs. The respite seems to have energized the crew: This second trailer for Dec. 13’s The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smeowwwwg is noticeably more action-packed, much of that thanks to bigger roles for Orlando Bloom’s Legolas and his elf love interest, Evangeline Lilly, that J.R.R. Tolkien forgot to put in there until Peter Jackson fixed it. There are also swordfights and spider-fights and—for those many, very weird Sherlock fans out there—hints of the long-awaited face-off between Martin Freeman’s Bilbo and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Schmaowwwguh that are sure to inspire plenty of fantasies we don’t want to hear about, thanks.
