The latest Deadpool 2 trailer has lots of Cable and metacriticism
Early glimpses of Deadpool 2 have been amusing teases, but they haven’t offered up much in the way of the plot for the R-rated sequel, which sees Josh Brolin setting up residence in yet another superhero property. Our latest look at the film attempts to properly introduce Cable, but the merc with the mouth soon derails things.
When Cable (Brolin) enters, guns ablaze and fists swinging, Ryan Reynolds’ voiceover can’t help but point out that the special effects are lacking in this scene. So he stages his own battle while the FX team gets its shit together, but continues to critique the movie even when he’s in Cable’s sights, thereby continuing his own tradition of absurd interludes in the middle of all the action. The montage of punches and itchy trigger fingers (and middle fingers) flies by, but not before we can make out Terry Crews as part of Deadpool’s crew. We also get a closer look at Zazie Beetz’s Domino, who’s up there in the aircraft with the wisecracking mutant.
Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18.
