The live-action Titans show casts its Dick Grayson
Warner Bros.’ upcoming digital superhero show Titans has found its acrobatic, brightly colored center, with Deadline reporting that Brenton Thwaites has been cast in the role of Dick Grayson for the Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns-written series. Grayson—better known to most comic fans as the first Robin, or, later, as Nightwing—serves as the leader of the Titans, bringing together a team that also includes the alien Starfire (Anna Diop) and mystical Raven (Teagan Croft).
Thwaites will be familiar to fans of recent, not necessarily successful summer blockbusters; he starred in last year’s CGI clusterfuck Gods Of Egypt, and as Orlando Bloom’s character’s son in the recent Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. He’s now signed on for a series that’ll see Warner Bros. and D.C. making a push into streaming entertainment, making the Titans—no longer Teens—the flagship for a new digital-only service.
