The Monuments Men
If Danny Ocean's grandfather put together two-thirds of a Dirty Dozen, then tasked them with protecting culturally significant works of architecture and art from occupying Nazi forces, the resulting film would probably look a lot like The Monuments Men. Based on the real-life story of the Allied forces' Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives program during WWII, George Clooney's fifth directorial effort is about the crack team of middle-aged guys who were sent behind enemy lines to wreak something like havoc in the name of intellectual property. In addition to directing and co-writing this reverse-heist dramedy, Clooney stars alongside Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman, and Bob Balaban, many of them the wrinkliest old men you've ever been psyched to see storm the beach at Normandy.
