The story of Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out of hiding in a new trailer
It’s been nearly a year since Rockstar Games announced the much-anticipated sequel to its iconic Western game Red Dead Redemption, and aside from a note to let all of us know its launch had been delayed out of 2017, the famously tight-lipped developer has been on media blackout ever since. The game has finally come back out of hiding today with the release of a new trailer and the first details about the characters and story of Red Dead Redemption 2.
As previously speculated, it takes place before the events of the first game and will revolve around the violent Van Der Linde gang, the posse of robbers and murderers that Red Dead Redemption star John Marston belonged to before he attempted to go straight. The main character this time around is a fella named Arthur Morgan, who joins the gang “as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive,” according to a Rockstar press release.
There is no firm release date for the game, but Rockstar is now aiming to launch Red Dead Redemption 2 sometime in Spring 2018 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
