The trailer for Hellraiser: Judgement doesn't have CD Head, but it'll do
The pit of eternal suffering that is the Hellraiser franchise still has fresh torments to offer those for whom all other earthly pleasures have lost their appeal, as a trailer for the 10th installment in the series, Hellraiser: Judgement, premiered this afternoon on horror site Bloody-Disgusting.
Shoehorning the ongoing adventures of Pinhead and pals into films “inspired” by more successful horror movies is a signature of the late Hellraiser franchise, and this time around they seem to be going for a redo on the S7ven-esque serial-killer narrative of 2000's Hellraiser: Inferno. (Fun fact: That objectively pretty terrible film marked the directorial debut of future Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson.) And we quote: “Three detectives trying to stop a diabolical serial killer are sucked into a maze of otherworldly horror, where hellish denizens including the Auditor, the Assessor, and the Jury await to pass judgment.”
Veteran makeup artist Gary J. Tunnicliffe, a longtime fan of the series who worked on the third, fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth Hellraiser movies, directs, with a newcomer, Paul T. Taylor, as Pinhead. Hellraiser: Judgement will premiere on DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD on February 13.
