This Is The End

Expanding on earlier previews that suggested This Is The End is just an excuse for Judd Apatow’s minions to hang with each other, here’s the red-band trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s summer comedy, which confirms it’s also an excuse for them to hang out with Rihanna and Emma Watson. Most of that hanging out is done at one of James Franco’s infamous parties, where celebrities just kick back and subvert preconceived notions of themselves by doing lots of drugs and saying foulmouthed things that run counter to their personae. But then all of a sudden, the apocalypse kicks in, and before you know it, Rihanna, Aziz Ansari, and Jason Segel are all falling to their doom in fiery pits, Michael Cera is getting impaled, and Emma Watson is demonstrating that years of working on movies where apocalypses aren’t dealt with through detached irony have left her with an unbeatable survival instinct. Who will live to see another day of hanging out and just sort of talking shit?
