Trailer for FX's Trust tells a kidnapping story you may have already heard recently

If Ridley Scott’s All The Money In The World hadn’t just come out, this trailer for Danny Boyle’s FX series Trust would tease a shocking and mysterious story about one of the wealthiest families in American history. However, All The Money In The World did just come out, so now it just seems kind of weird that FX is making a show about the same thing, but there’s an angle to Trust that this trailer doesn’t mention: It’s actually an anthology show that will follow various different stories over the course of the 20th century. That isn’t worth much now, since we still just have this one season about John Paul Getty III’s kidnapping so far, but at least Getty fans can look forward to another take on the story.

Trust stars Harris Dickinson as the kidnapped Getty heir, with Donald Sutherland playing the miserly Getty old man and Hilary Swank playing the kidnapped Getty’s mother. Brendan Fraser also shows up as some kind of cowboy, which definitely wasn’t in Ridley Scott’s movie.

The show will premiere on FX on March 25.
