It’s a real shame that Travis Kelce doesn’t tweet about visualizing his success and vibing to the scenary anymore, but himbo enjoyers can still get the full experience from the New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce. For example, the tight end and future Ryan Murphy actor recently told his brother that he didn’t realize the Eras tour stage—which is frequently set up in football stadiums, including the one he plays in—was “easily as big as a football stadium” until he made a surprise cameo alongside his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, in London last month.

Popping up in a three-piece suit to do heel clicks and help Swift with her makeup before she launched into The Tortured Poets Department track “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart,” Kelce earned huge cheers from the unsuspecting Wembley Stadium crowd with his appearance. “When everyone found out that it was me—because it took a second for everyone to figure it out—that moment was pretty jarring. I was just like, ‘Oh shit,’” Kelce said on the podcast. “And you don’t realize how big that damn stage is,” he continued, explaining that it was “number to numbers” as long as the turf (Wembley isn’t an American football stadium so he can be forgiven for the silly allusion here) and “way bigger than I could have ever imagined.”

The whole discussion is honestly pretty delightful. Kelce revealed that the cameo was initially his idea, and he was surprised when Swift asked him if he was serious. “What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me?” he recalled saying. “I’ve seen the show enough—might as well put me to work here.” “It’s very unlike me. I don’t love going on stages. There were a lot of people out there, and I really didn’t feel at home,” he joked.

He went on to laud Swift as a “true showman,” saying it was an “honor” to stand on stage beside her and her backup dancers. “It was an absolute blast,” he said. “It was such a fun, playful part of the show, and it was like… the perfect time for me to go up there, just be a ham and have some fun—not only with [Swift]… but the crowd and really try and get everybody excited for the rest of the show. It was awesome.”

“I didn’t disappoint Taylor, so that’s all that really matters,” he added. Kelce’s starring turn was theoretically a one-time thing, but who knows—Swift might have to get used to sharing the stage a bit more in the future.
