Trevor Noah is in his element in this exclusive trailer for his new Netflix special

Although he’s spent the last year and half sitting behind a desk, The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah has never lost his connection to the world of stand-up. Now the South African comic is stretching his legs again in this exclusive trailer for his upcoming Netflix comedy special, Trevor Noah: Afraid Of The Dark.

Filmed at New York City’s Beacon Theater, the trailer sees Noah take on all the topics you’d expect from a global-thinking political comic: The rise of nationalism. Barack Obama. Teddy bears. (That last one in a bit about the irresistible menace of a good Russian accent.) Although Noah’s slowly but surely finding his footing over at Comedy Central, it’s still fascinating to see him so clearly in his element, playing with the crowd, comfortably stalking the stage, and laughing along with his own jokes. You can see it for yourself when Afraid Of The Dark debuts on Netflix February 21.
