Writer Audrey Wauchope accuses One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn of harassment
As reported by Deadline, TV writer Audrey Wauchope has accused former One Tree Hill showrunner and creator Mark Schwahn of sexual harassment, sharing stories on Twitter about inappropriate things he’d allegedly do while she and her writing partner Rachel Specter were working on the show. Wauchope never identified Schwahn by name, but she said that it was someone working on her very first show and other sources have confirmed she was indeed referring to Schwahn—who currently works as the creator/showrunner on E!’s The Royals.
Among her allegations, Wauchope says that Schwahn would touch women without their permission, make innuendo, and create a generally hostile work environment that involved showing staff members naked photos of an actress he was having an affair with. Wauchope says she was inspired to share these allegations by the stories about Flash and Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg getting suspended over multiple sexual harassment allegations. You can see Wauchope’s full Twitter thread below.
Wauchope and Specter are currently writers and producers on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and since she shared these tweets, a number of One Tree Hill actresses—including Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Lenz—have expressed their support for Wauchope.
