X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Here is the first glimpse at X-Men: Days Of Future Past, based on the popular Moody Blues album about mutants traveling back in time to meet their younger, somehow even more brooding selves. As has been touted for months now, it’s a reunion both in front of and behind the cameras, as Bryan Singer returns to the franchise he allowed to slip into Ratnered disrepair to join the old alumni (Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, etc.) with the First Class (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and so on)—hoping, both on screen and off, to correct the past in order to save the future. Judging by this trailer, much of that correcting of the past seems to involve Wolverine convincing a pleather-draped Professor X to wake from his shaggy ’70s stupor, put away the Jim Croce albums, and sack up, man, but there’s also some hints of a subplot involving Peter Dinklage and, though they’re not glimpsed here, the Sentinels—which is a lot of things. And the movie doesn’t open until May 23, so there’s still time to put in a cameo from the Jessica Alba-Chris Evans Fantastic Four cast.
