X-Men: First Class

While its earlier teaser trailer was content to let JFK do most of the talking, the expanded trailer for this summer’s X-Men: First Class is far chattier. In fact, it’s so focused on the back-and-forth between a young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender)—all tense exchanges over what it means to be a mutant—that at times it comes off like My Dinner With Magneto or something. But of course, that’s just the preview, and behind all the philosophizing there’s a whole lot of new action to absorb, including some much longer introduction (and pretty cool transformation) scenes for January Jones’ Emma Frost and Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, bigger effects sequences, and even a couple of those iconic group shots. That’s what we’re talking about.
